The PPCS presents its curricular structure distributed in two Areas of Concentration and four Research Lines, two in each area. Each line has eight compulsory subjects, two common to all lines and six specific professional ones. All subjects have their menus updated and registered on the Sucupira Platform. The two common disciplines present content applicable to all Research Line, focused on two fundamental issues for the Professional Master's: technical and scientific publication with incentive to innovation and development of new products, techniques and processes; and concern for the environment, aiming at sustainable development and environmental sanitation. In specific situations, the professor of each discipline will be able to update the content of any of the eight subjects, in common agreement with the class, to meet specific demands of professional themes, that is, specific interests of the classes. The Areas of Concentration and Research Lines have coordinators to monitor the performance of students and professors during and at the end of each discipline, receiving suggestions and criticisms from students and monitoring the fulfillment of the workload and all scheduled activities, well within the established deadline. to launch the concepts. It should be noted the presence of a productivity coordinator, where all research carried out in the Program is monitored by a research productivity researcher from CNPq, as well as the intellectual production of the Program.

PPG objectives

General

Promote the socioeconomic development of the North region and, consequently, of Brazil, through scientific-technological and professional improvement aimed at the specific needs of public and private organizations, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of entities of different natures, generating and applying processes and innovative industrial products.

Specific

- Train and train professionals in the areas of Engineering and Administration and Management to exercise their improved professional practice, aiming to meet the social, organizational, professional and labor market demands of the Amazon region and Brazil;

- Train and qualify qualified professionals to work in the technical-scientific and educational sectors (training), aiming to transfer knowledge to society and meet specific demands and mineral production arrangements and sectors of civil construction, aiming at regional development with the promotion of environmental sanitation;

- Meet the requests of large companies of diverse natures (mineral sector, civil construction, urban sanitation, water supply, infrastructure for the transmission of energy and telecommunications, recycling, furniture, etc.) for professional courses aimed at training managers- technicians to improve the performance of public and private organizations to solve specific problems with the generation and application of innovative products and processes;

- Train and train qualified professionals to improve competitiveness and increase productivity in public and private entities through the incorporation of technical and scientific learning in their processes and products, promoting diversification or derivation to expand socioeconomic development with generation of jobs and income;

- Meet specific demands of public and private entities located in the Amazon region, initially, and in Brazil, in the future. Among the entities located in the Amazon region, the biggest demands are from mining companies: CADAM, IMERYS Rio Capim Caulim, ALBRAS, ALUNORTE, VALE; the public company COSANPA for the supply of water and sanitation, the Federal Institute of Pará (IFPA) and the Federal Institute of Amazonas (IFAM); Institutes offering technical-scientific courses such as the Institute of Technology Galileo da Amazônia, which already has an agreement with UFPA, the Belém City Hall (SEURB, SESAN, SEOP, among others), the Ananindeua City Hall and other municipalities; and the companies that operate in the Civil Construction Industry operating in the Amazon Region, including the industrial pole of Manaus, which was very heated by the fact that the city hosted the 2014 World Cup;

- Integrate the different areas of engineering (civil construction, materials, structures, sanitation and urban infrastructure and environmental engineering) with areas of knowledge that, when properly associated and applied in the solution of diverse engineering problems, become potentially correlated (administration and management environmental and construction processes);

- Produce Professional Master's degree conclusion works directed to specific problems of regional and national companies with the generation of innovative technological products or processes that, preferably, generate patent applications.
